About
The Dyadic Parent-Child Interaction Coding System (DPICS) is designed to assess parent-child social interactions, provide a guide for treatment decisions, and measure behavioral change in Parent Child Interaction Therapy. In this 1-hour PCIT CE Program, Certified PCIT Global Trainers (Dr. Danielle Campbell and Amber Brick, LCSW) highlight 10 common coding challenges that occur in PCIT sessions. Participants will code a five-minute video and check their coding reliability. Afterwards, trainers guide participants through the video, discuss each verbalization, and provide tips/strategies to improve coding reliability. This is the first video in a 3-part series designed to enhance your DPICS coding skills. Learning Objectives: At the end of this program, you should be able to: 1) Differentiate between labeled praises, and unlabeled praises paired with behavioral descriptions. 2) Differentiate between neutral talk statements and behavior descriptions. 3) Explain 3 ways to quickly identify subtle negative talk statements. 4) Describe the difference between reflections and inflections. 5) Explain the “You have” and “You got” rule in DPICS Coding.
