About
The Dyadic Parent-Child Interaction Coding System (DPICS) is designed to assess parent-child social interactions, provide a guide for treatment decisions, and measure behavioral change in Parent Child Interaction Therapy. In this 1-hour PCIT CE Program, Certified PCIT Global Trainers (Drs. Amber Farrington and Shannon Bennett) explore 10 additional common coding challenges that occur in PCIT sessions. Participants will code a five-minute video and check their coding reliability. Afterwards, trainers guide participants through the video, discuss each verbalization, and provide tips/strategies to improve coding reliability. This is the final video in a 3-part series designed to enhance your DPICS coding skills. Learning Objectives: At the end of this program, you should be able to: 1) Understand and code distributive rule statements. 2) Identify the correct code for statements that are enthusiastic but not sufficiently positive. 3) Code statements in which caregivers call their child’s name. 4) Understand how to use priority order when coding. 5) Understand how to code “general rule” statements.
